Is breakfast included?

YES! We offer a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, pastries, as well as fresh-pressed orange juice, coffee & tea. We serve breakfast in the formal dining room anytime between 8am - 10 am

How many does the villa sleep?

We can sleep up to 8 people in total. We have 3 rooms, Serenity (queen bed), Romantica (large king bed), Lakeview (queen bed) and Lakeview family room (2 single beds). The Lakeview family room can only be added to the Lakeview room, as it is attached and shares a bathroom. Lakeview family room can not be booked on its own. Bedrooms have portable air conditioning units.

Do you host weddings and events?

WE SURE DO! We love to host weddings and events! Email us to find out the cost and details.

Do the rooms have their own private en-suites? 

YES! Each of our 3 beautifully decorated guest rooms has its own ensuite washroom. All of the restrooms have been updated and feature a different, beautiful wallpaper.

Are there TVs in the rooms?

Lakeview and Romanticica each have a TV in the room.

Is there a restaurant on site? 

NO. We are a bed and breakfast, not a hotel. If you are looking for other meals, we are happy to suggest a caterer from our preferred vendors list or happy to refer you to our favourite local restaurants.

Are we within walking distance of the train station?

Yes, technically, we are within walking distance of the Port Hope Via station. However, Google Maps is a little misleading on how close and how fast it is to get here. There is a fairly steep hill to account for. If you are taking the train here, please let us know. We can often arrange pickup so you don't have to walk the hill with all of your luggage.

Are we within walking distance to the beach and downtown?

Yes, we are! Please be mindful of the steep hill on Dorest Street. The walk down will definitely be easier.

What is there to do in Port Hope? 

Ok, so I could go on for days about how amazing this town is and all of the wonderful things to do.  Port Hope has so many events, many of them free, especially in the summer months. We have fabulous locally owned restaurants. Cafe Lviv, with authentic Ukrainian food, is one of our favourites. You can really feel like you travelled to Europe! When you book your stay, I am happy to send you some of my favourites. Also, be sure to check out the Capitol Theatre, Shantee Healing and our beautifully preserved downtown.

Villa Idalia Room Occupancy Policy

At Villa Idalia, we take great care to ensure the safety, security, comfort, and privacy of all our guests. Each room booking is designated for a maximum of two (2) people only. This includes both registered guests and visitors.

Your reservation grants you private access to one guest room only. Please note that all other areas of the property are shared spaces with other guests, and we ask that everyone be respectful of the peaceful environment we strive to maintain.

Any additional individuals brought onto the property—for visits, photography sessions, or events—must receive prior approval from Villa Idalia management. Additional fees may apply, such as a photography fee or wedding package fee, depending on the nature of the visit or activity.

Unauthorized guests or activities may result in immediate cancellation of the booking without refund and additional fees billed.
